I stick my background up with tape. What do you all use? The tape is driving me crazy. Can you use vegetable oil?

double sided tape mine work well? i know thats still tape but yeah.

Don't know how well oil would hold it to your tank tho? ... lol

Never heard of the oil being used either.I use the clear, wide, packing tape.

I use mineral oil. I wouldn't use vegetable oil, as it may turn rancid over time. Make sure the glass and the background are very clean. Wipe a thin layer of oil all over the background and put it in place. Starting from the center, use a plastic spatula or putty knife or credit card and work all the bubbles out toward the edge. You will still have to use tape to hold it in place, but the advantage is the background will look 3049584 times brighter and clearer because it is adhering to the glass rather than just sitting behind it.

Oh ya packing tape. I have some of that. That's what Im going to use. I thought of vegetable oil but it would probably be a disaster.

double tape, otherwise I just paint my background with black. Using a latex paint which is easier to remove when bore.

I just bought a tank from CL, the guy had his background attached with an oil, I am almost 90% positive it was vegetable oil, he told me I could use vinegar or something to remove the oil/clean the tank.

Oil is deff the way to go, it adheres to the glass very nicely and none of that sticky tape mess... just oily residue afterwards if you ever take it off... and that's easy to wipe off.
