Think it makes the fish feel a bit more secure. I like the look and for all intentions purposes it was free cus its scrap. Didnt even realy need tape my filters are holding it up I slid it between them and the glass.
That looks really good. I like it... the driftwood is cool too real unique shape
So I did my water changes last night and went ahead and slapped on the background. with water in the tank it looks almost black. The electric blue acara in that tank are all gathering at the ends of the tank to look out of the glass now is kinda funny.

and as a bonus shot I was able to take the brick off of my driftwood finaly so here is a full shot of the "bowl" on top of it leading to my female sens cave.
Love the driftwood piece you found. Black gravel looks good too! Hopefully we will see the EB acaras make an appearance soon!
Nope, its gonna be too dark,imo.
Plus you wanna see your polys from the side of the tank
I also agree with this. Black/Gray wall+ black sand+ black/gray sides= will make your tank look really dark.
Posted them in the cichlid forum not long ago but here is my most recent shots of the EB Acara. I am sadly lacking in some new poly pics Momma sen has her big cave now and the other will not hold still long enough for a picture..... You can guess how oftem I see the gold dust.
