Should I put a black or blue background on my tank that has a grayish substrate in it?

Your best bet is to look at as many pictures of tanks that you can and decide which backgrounds you think look the best.

Yes, it will be planted with two huge driftwood decors. I am planning on 30-50 cardinal tetras. It already has 7 3 inch clown loaches. I'm also thinking about adding some discus down the road after the cardinals and plants are in there for a while. I'm planning on 2 65 watt 6500k compacts and pressurized co2 with a controller.

If you are going planted, then go black back. The blue back behind green and red plants will take away from the fish.
