yea oscars are, for the most part, like a nice dog. I have seen an oscar act crazy and jump out of the water trying to bite however. i had to have someone hold her against the glass with the net whenever i needed to do tank maintenance.
chances are the red devil will get more aggressive but there could be a chance they could get along if he is small enough.
