Yes I usually do that when the new fish is not from th local store. I did do that with this one too everything was goo ph was roughly .2 lower in the water he came in versus mine 7.6 V 7.4 I think he was just not healthy though since this new one acts nothing like him.

All I can say is I wish I knew :confused:Strange though I had one for like a year and I had to move him he sucking the slime coat off my TSN. He died like 3 days later oddly enough I put him in the tank he came from only 2 weeks prior. I have one now that is doing good but the only thing he will eat is black worms, go figure
