Ive had the WORST week when it comes to fish keeping. First I had a senegal bichir choke on a piece of shrimp second I had my rope fish swim up my filter and get killed by the impeller and third my leopard ctenopoma just jumped out of the tank while I was feeding smh. Have any of you ever had bad weeks like this where several bad things just happen like this in quick succession? Sorry for the rant im just pissed I guess

I think all of us have had moments.
My fire eel liked filters also. So now I just stay away from them. Always something new and cool to take somethings place though

Everything that can go wrong with a fish tank WILL indeed at some point go wrong! You have to make sure every element of the tank is secured according to your stock. Learn from this!

Sorry for your loss!

Last year in October when we had a freak snow storm, my power went out for about a week and a half. I lost about $50 worth of fish. Including all my cobra guppy fry I had been raising for a couple months, my largest pleco that was about 10" and a bunch of small plecos. Lost a little musk turtle also. Really sucked. But, you'll recover. Good luck with the recovery.

I live in south Florida and about 7 years ago we had a storm named Francis pay us a visit. We lost power for 16 days and by the time we got a generator within 48 hours to power our saltwater tanks the fish, soft and hard corals were gone; estimated value was over $5000.00. That is why we have just recently set up a 30 gal. freshwater tank. Hope your day is better.
