Bad fish keeping week for me.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
One week a fish died, and I didn't notice the smell until 5 days later. That created a huge spike in ammonia which then killed another 47 dollars of fish that I had put well over 100 dollars to keep them thriving. The next day one of my filters broke.

oh man i feel your pain but it really dose happen to every one next week it'll happen to someone else.......hopefully not me

Not trying to be a fire starter or anything but seems like most were preventable. Could of just been out of it and realized it but I mean where is your filter cover ? Where is the intake cover ? If you think something is to big for your fish, cut it up. Keep an eye on other fish while tank lid is off.

Im sorry this happend to you and I hope nothing bad efver happens to your tanks ever again. But hey, lesson lived lesson learned.

seems like most were preventable.

Way to be supportive lol...

Sorry for your run of luck and as the old saying goes, "luck comes in threes, good or bad."

Its happened to the most experianced of us.. and the newest of us.. and some of us.. not nameing names.. -.-... just have bad luck period. an "accident" wouldn't be called such if it was compleately avoidable.. and hindsight is 20/20.. but we get that to hopefully learn and not have the same thing happen.

lesson learned? I did some nooby stuff back in the days.

I live in south Florida and about 7 years ago we had a storm named Francis pay us a visit. We lost power for 16 days and by the time we got a generator within 48 hours to power our saltwater tanks the fish, soft and hard corals were gone; estimated value was over $5000.00. That is why we have just recently set up a 30 gal. freshwater tank. Hope your day is better.

Thats horrible! im sorry for your loss, this makes my bad week look like nothing...

I realized it seemed very heartless and edited it lol

most were preventable and thats why i feel bad, cause two of them were preventable and lazy mistakes that were 100% my fault. i didn't find it heartless btw whats done is done. But im sure as hell not going to let it happen again.

and no the bichir didnt die but hes still in a hospital tank cause his slime coat is totally jacked up but he started eating today which is good.
