baddest cichlid

Geophagus 'Red Bahia' are aggressive, outgoing, active and extremely colorful. The males are OUTSTANDING, not too many people are keeping these and a pair could live in a 55 for life. Don't be fooled by the name Geophagus, my male dominated umbees his size and even protected wandering fry from those little piscivores. I was impressed!

Salvini or neets will work

Salvini is probably the one of the most aggressive for it's size. Males get to about 9" females to about 6" and unlike most other species the female is more colorful. http://cameron-digital.com/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=10&pos=1

Pair would be good in a 55 but don't plan on putting anything else in with them. It just won't happen if you get a pair.

Yep, Neets. No cichlid meaner that can comfortably live in a 55 for life.

These guys are Genghis Khan on his worst day...and probably wouldnt let much else in the tank with them, unless its a big catfish or pleco. Even then, its a crapshoot. Good thing is you could have several spawning pairs in a properly arranged 55.

Not the most colorful, but one of the most enjoyable to watch with its own species.
