Geophagus 'Red Bahia' are aggressive, outgoing, active and extremely colorful. The males are OUTSTANDING, not too many people are keeping these and a pair could live in a 55 for life. Don't be fooled by the name Geophagus, my male dominated umbees his size and even protected wandering fry from those little piscivores. I was impressed!
Yep, Neets. No cichlid meaner that can comfortably live in a 55 for life.
These guys are Genghis Khan on his worst day...and probably wouldnt let much else in the tank with them, unless its a big catfish or pleco. Even then, its a crapshoot. Good thing is you could have several spawning pairs in a properly arranged 55.
Not the most colorful, but one of the most enjoyable to watch with its own species.
