badly needen your help!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It is very hard to suggest which fish to add without knowing basic information about the fish tank. There are over 1,000 Cichlid species from around the world that get different sizes, compatible with different fish, and require different parameters - saying that you have a fish tank with Cichlid's does absolutely nothing.

As everyone else said Pacus get very big and 75 gallon, they simply get too big. When you said you moved the Pacus fish you were asked where did you move them and you never answered. I am sorry to say this, do not take this the wrong way but many people do not want to take advice and just say they "moved" the fish but did absolutely nothing.

Knowing the type of filtration helps a lot as well, if you have a strong filtration system you will get away with overstocking your fish some-what.

Finally, I suggest you go with common Mbuna African Cichlids; they are small, there is a huge variety, generally are kept in large groups, and are very fun to watch.

Well said, Vitaliy.

I would like to add that the reason everyone said to nix the pacus is because of the difference in growth rates of the pacus and most cichlids. Pacus have explosive growth rates where most cichlids that are offered to aquarists are extremely slower by comparison. Also many max out between two to five inchs (5-13 cm). At that point they are only fish food.

Any cichlids are awsome fish compared to pacus (my opinion, and my opinion follows)...Put cichlids in both of your tanks and nail your pacus to a tree. By the way, I am not a pacu fan. :naughty:

And WELCOME to MFK!!!

i just put the pacus to a clean non design yank 50gallons,why does a lot of people hate pacus? im planning to give it away and add cichlids to my tank...thanks for helping...ill put some pictures of my tank so i can get suggestions

People hate pacus, not because they are lame fish. One the contrary, they are awesome fish. People hate them because they are prolly the cheapest, fastest growing ]V[onster and 99.9% never get the several hundred gallon tank they need, they don't get 2 feet like they should, and they live a fraction of their lifespan (30 years)

THANKS for all your help....suggestions are still open. im only new in this hobby thats why im w8ting fo ra lot of fish suggestion to have...MORE POWER TO MFK

You have been given suggestions, you just arent listening. You will only be happy when you hear what you want to hear. Yes, we know you are new to fishkeeping so we suggest you take back the pacu's or get them a huge tank. (At least 300 gallons). They are one species of fish I think should not be sold by local fish stores, because people buy them not knowing how big they get and you local fish store doesn''t know much more about them either. "They only get as big as the tank". I hear that all the time. It is not true. When the only grow so big, they are "Stunted" meaning their insides keep growing but their outside body doesn't leading to a shortened life. Do what's right, get them a huge tank or take them back. I think you are fine with the ram cichlids in that tank. Don't add anymore fish.
Sorry to sound like I am being hard on you, it's just human nature to want to hear people tell you you are doing the right thing. It is hard to have someone tell you, you are wrong.
