If you're thinking about it Jed be careful, as I do think you'd need a permit. Hawaii is pretty strict with their imports. Exports they could care less about.

As far as I can tell, they are not on any prohibited or restricted lists. An email to the government might be in order though. Better safe than sorry.

As far as I know it's the responsibility of the receiver to have the paper work ready for customs but then again I've never shipped to Hawaii before.

If it's too much headache and falls in a grey area I'd rather not ship there.
