no man...I have kept both species...only way I was able to tell was the yarrelli was very aggressive and outgrew the b. bagarius.....the b. bagarius was very mellow and non aggressive and didnt grow an 1" in a month compared to the yarrelli packing 2-3" per month and on attack mode constantly....other than that they looked identical.

wayne...he is fairly active,but only in the sense of scutting and jetting to different current points in the tank and feeding....on an average hour he will move about approx 10 full minutes...I am sure you can understand that as alot lay motionless for hours..LOL
watching him eat live is a tricky thing though...I keep him swimming in his food....when hungry now I will occasionally catch him taking out a large shiner by a fast sideways head swipe....most of the time I miss the whole episode and catch the sparkles. :)

I've been wanting to get a Bagarius sp. for some time now... does bagarius suchas have same charactoristics as B. yarelli? or B. bagarius??
