you traded a flag tail for a pleco? thats odd. that looks like a bigger version of my common. i think i woulda kept the flagtail

Wow! I thought they only grew to 8" max! Great trade!

Glyptopericythys joselimaianus, which isn't a common, just looks similar because it is in the main brown. They are commonly referred to as gold spot plecos. They are the same genus as the gibbiceps, but doesn't have the sail. Really nice fish, and as stated you got a nice big one. What is it 9"? Couldn't tell with the tape measure pic.

Around here they are sold as commons quite regularly.

Am sure they are. I went into one place and they had P. maccus for sale as commons. Often see joselimaianus in with the Hypostomus plecostomus hybrids. Just meant it isn't one of the hypostomus or Liposarcus species that are generally referred to as the common pleco (eg. the pardalis, plecostomus, punctatus' and hybrids of this world). I wouldn't call a gibbiceps a "common plec" either... doesn't mean I haven't seen them sold as that... common names... who'd have them.
Nice joselimaianus anyhoo.

thank u guys. as the thread title said.. its a 10 incher.
i traded my flagtail bcuz the pbass is harrassing it, dont want it to suffer the same fate as my bala shark. i think i did the right choice and im pretty happy with it :)

WOW id say you robbed the place. Awesome L001 hes huge, i have one but right now hes only about 2 inches, can't wait till he gets that size. The max size on them are 12 inches.
