Ok new delema....

I sold my Temz for $60 now I am thinking should I get a school of silver dollars? or should I get another Datnoid?

Dragon Aquarium I believe still has 2 others I am not sure what they are as they were unstable when I was last there but they were in the same tank as my IT.

Would that be better then the SD's? Right now I have a AT and IT and Leopard Ctenopoma in the tank with a common pleco and 3 apollo sharks.

I remember Reading that it is best to keep Dats in atleast 3 is that true?

Get the other dat.i have never heard of them having to be in a group of 3

Yeah, they definitley do better in odd numbers, when in small groups...so either have 1 or 3.

If you have larger numbers, it's not as important.

adult silver dollars can look pretty good especially the red hooks and other species but preditory are way better then shinny schooling fish

only thing is that dats often will pick on new dats in the tank so if you can get more dats try to get more then one 2 is the worst number with aggressive fish

I would add as many as you can get. The one might be ok, but two would be better.

Get the Dat... and have a shoal of Silver Dollars!

I have 9 Dats and a shoal of 12 Silver Dollars, they contrast each other really well.

Only thing the Dollars can be a nightmare at feeding time as they try and out compete the Dats for food, end up putting a bit more food in than intended to ensure the Dats all get a good feed.

My smallest IT likes to shoal with them, think he's confused too what type of fish he is!!!

Think the general rule for Dat numbers is one on its own, or three plus if you have the room.
