Reels are a preference thing its a good idea if you can get them both have a go I my self prefer Daiwa over Shimano I have them both I have found the clutches smother on the Daiwa but once again thats memy mate I fish with all the time like Shimano and hates my reel.
Reels are a personal thing try out a few then get what you prefer.
