I'd be curious to know what your Ph and hardness are?Just a quick
thought,in my experience,some fish can have reduced growth rates
if housed in less than ideal parameters for the species,even if they're
a mass produced farm raised,non wild fish.The fish may live well but
never experience any real leaps in growth.I suspect the Balas are cut
of this cloth and probably grow their fastest in softer waters.Not
to mention I don't think Balas would win any awards for hardiness
or adaptability when stacked up against number of other Asian
Cyprinids.There is a bit more to consider sometimes than just
spacious tanks,filteration,feeding and temperature.
