Ball inside my canister filter?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks! No they didnt have any instructions. They are a cheaper filter, but do the job. And im pretty sure i found where the ball goes, but yes i still have air bubbles. I think its coming from the intake head, because it leaks when i turn it. :( i have used sealant everywhere i can, but it still leaks. I think its needs a new head :(. oh well.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by the intake head leaks when you turn it. Are they the swivel fittings for the hoses? And what kind of sealant are you using? Pics of the leaking area would be helpful. It may just be o-rings if they are swivel fittings. I don't think sealant (caulk or pipe dope) will help that issue.

Regarding the ball, I don't know that it would be on the output side of the filter. Some Fluval canister filters use a check ball in the intake strainer for there 'push to prime' model filters.
