i went to the pet store to get some crickets and the owner who has known me for about 3 years asked me if i wanted a ball python. she said the owner brought it in earlier and it looked pretty bad.. very skinny and lots of stuck shed.

it looks like it hasn't eaten in about a year, but it was supposedly fed a mouse every month..also looks like it had NO humidity at all where it was being kept. i had a ball python who was also a rescue about 2 years ago that came to me in almost the same condition only his eyes were worse. he was my favorite snake i've ever owned..so this one pulled at my heartstrings and i had to take it.

owner said it was a male, but i "popped" it and it's a female.

she is about 4.5 feet long, only 750g..she should be at least 1300g for her size.

nope, no money was spent on her..she wasn't a pity buy(i would never BUY a snake in this condition). the store owner had her in a pillow case behind the counter.

wow poor girl she should looks mmuuuuch thicker at the size. good job on the rescue hope she gets better. updates;)

im sure she'll do good here. i just soaked her for about 30 minutes and was able to get all the shed off her body and eyes..new pic coming up soon.

Well done on the rescue.
Can't believe how skinny she is! I was panicking that my female was only 1500g at 4 foot long!
Nice long soak in the tub now?
Best of luck and well done in taking this girl in! Hopefully she can get a second chance at the life she deserves!

i can't believe she's so skinny either, total neglect by the original owner..i mean how hard is it to buy a $4 rat once a week?...no excuse. im going to have to go slow with her..start her off on small rats until her system can handle medium to large rats.

she got a nice long soak in a rubbermaid container, all the shed on her body is off, but she still has a few eye caps stuck..im guessing at least 4.

here she is after all the shed was taken off, looking better already.
