Lol, get rid of that entire branch thing, and get your ball python 1 or 2 hides that it can fit snugly into, like those coconut husk things. Ball pythons need small hides like that so they can sleep all day and feel secure, your tank is way too open right now. Also, there should be a portion of the tank that is in the upper 80s, and I would also recommend you get a heating bad for belly warmth. Good luck!

it isnt really visible in the pics but there are some hides in the back and he loves to be back there during the day this was at twilight when he gets his 20gal (probably this week)
I will have more room to put in hides right now i cant fit any more.

We've got the same water dish, and I think the branch looks really good. He seems to be using it, so I would keep that in your 20 long.

As long as there is a good place for him to hide you're good.

Good call on covering the sides and back, perhaps I should do that as well.

i can assure you the cage is well equipped with hides. the above pictures don't show them that well, but the branches form some nice cozy hiding spots, which he uses frequently

I would still get him something with cover on top, I think as secretive animals they might appreciate it more... But that's just me.

Also, I'm pretty confused, are you two the same person? siblings? friends?
Ah it doesn't matter :grinno:

this^ unfortunately..

he actually enjoys resting his head on the top of the piece of slate, where he can feel safe because he can pull back into there if he wants, but he can also look around. which would be harder with something with a covered top.
