So, am I looking at getting bitten every day for a year? I guess I'll just learn to like it. I definitely plan on keeping this snake for as long as I can. I've always wanted one. I'm currently working on a new enclosure for the thing as he was given to me in a WAY-TOO-SMALL enclosure.

Why not give it away and pick one up that is calmer. Seems yours is particularly "hostile".

I didn't have a ball python, but my kenyan sand boa had a nasty habit of biting when she would go into a shed (that time of the month affects all females, apparently). She was able to be broken of it by handling her with gloves, because when she would bite she wouldn't get a reaction because I wouldn't feel it. I would just hold her, with gloved hands, very calmly in her tank. Over time she realized biting would get her no where =)

do you have any piercings ?? its like needles just dont pull away cause that can cause them to tear your skin but if its just a bite its not bad there is no long term effects as long as you clean it well and make sure there is no broken teeth left behind
Is it possible to be alergic to BP's like somebody said you can be to garter snakes and have a almost venom like stinging sensation and swell up, or is that just with Garters?
idk but that can be pretty bad if it pierces your skin and you get that into your blood system and it reacts...

You should uh... get your g/f to film you while you handle the BP and post it here so we can... critique your methods! ya! :nilly:

Last night he got me three times. I've never felt more like a sorority sister in my entire life. It's something about being bitten by a snake that really gets my feminine side going. I'll get the SOB to stop biting me someday. I breed large parrots professionally and get bitten by them quite often, but the snake freaks me out. I'll see what I can do about video. Hopefully I can counteract the sissiness with a vid of me doing something uber-macho.

Try using a snake hook to get it out of the cage initially....then gradually work your hands into the mix once it calms down. It may cut down on the bites.
