  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hartz 2 in one is great for treating the substrate as well only on snakes though not on lizards

can you treat the bark with the mite off as well? and also how do the snakes get the mites anywyas?

Make sure you let him know not to treat the snake if it's in the shedding process, this can do more harm than good. The cage and furnishings should all be bleached (about 10% strength) for a few mins, this will kill the mites and eggs.

snake finished shedding about 1 week ago, have treated him yet, well today i bleached the tank and cleaned it with hot water and layed paper towels on the bottom of the tank and i also soaked him agian, i think he is getting the treatment tomorrow his mom said, so yeah and i left the under heat pad off cause i figured he would go under the paper towel and burn, i also threw away all the bark inside he will have to get new ones this weekend, and the snakes branch (driftwood thingy) i sprayed today at work with high prssure air hose , so should i soak that too?

Bleach everything to be sure, you don't want it coming back. Also if you've bleached the enclosure and then put the snake with mites back in the cage, they will start laying again, and you may have to keep bleaching and repeating the process. They reproduce like crazy, you'll want to hit them all at once. Make sure you keep the snake well hydrated.

yeah last night he was really active and in and out of the water and took a big ****..

where do the mites come from?

yeah i belive very small lol... and today we will treat properly since we got all the stuff needed

Well they can come from anything, if you have brought in a new snake (or if this is a new snake, you might not have noticed them for a while, they start out so small). If you've been near someone elses collection that has them, in a pet shop that has them, bought any thing like bedding or wood from a pet shop that has it open and not sealed, just one female transported on your clothes (or other any other object) can end up with an infestation. They can move pretty far too.

wow, crazy as long as you treat it properly it is ok, and also i read online somewhere the head lice for humans dose the job better the mite off..? is this correct?
