ball python

Nice clean looking ball. JFYI LC it looks as though your snake is "in shed" so handling at this time isnt the best idea. ;)

yeah.. easy way to get tagged..

i was at venice beach once and some guy gets paid to let you get a pic holding hiw burmese python like 10 footer.last time i watched 10 dif sets of ppl do this while it was in full on blue eye.f that!

Large, congrats on getting a ball python. They are my favorite reptile ever and I'm glad you are getting a chance to enjoy them too.

I know you didn't ask for it, but I'm throwing you some advice anyway:

Watch your temperatures and humidity levels VERY closely with your ball python. Ball pythons are MUCH more sensitive to sub-par conditions than some of the other reptiles that you've been through in the last year. Ball pythons get sick much easier, go off of food, have bad sheds, etc when their conditions aren't exactly right. I'm not saying they are HARD to take care of, but they are definitely more sensitive to husbandry errors.

Your snake looks like its in shed. Shedding is a great indicator to you of whether or not the humidity is right. If he sheds in one piece and leaves a little ball of rolled up skin, your humidity is good. If he sheds in flakes and little pieces that stick all over him, your humidity is too low.

Just offering my unsolicited advice. I hope you can have success with this species and not get rid of him in a couple of months like the others...

yeah I like it when my snakes shed... it's like a pair of rolled up tube socks :)

I think I'm going to start feeding my snakes in a feeding bin though... ...only cuz I'm tired of being snapped at by my female.. lol. little slut tagged me today on the finger... ..then she snapped at the male! I guess that's the difference between wild caught and domestically bred.... ...I can pick up and move the male while he's downing a mouse and he isn't phased. The female on the other hand.. she'll spit out a mouse if someone farts loudly. ...yes she's got two choices.. either be left alone all the time or handled.. so she needs to make a decision on whether or not she's gonna bite me anymore. ;) .oh yeah.. the female is certified wild caught in Africa and the male was bred locally..

Wow, you'se in the US seem to pay ALOT less for royal pythons than we do. Cost us £90 for a baby in the pet shops (and that's the very least) and from private owners we're lucky to get one for £40/£50! So yes, you got a great deal there compared to our prices. LOL.

But you guys have higher wages than we do. If you think about it, it cost the same in the end if you account the average salary.

Not to mention North America has a huge population and breeders try to satisfy that need by mass-producing their animals.

Don't know the average wage of an American to an English tbh mate, always thought Americans earned more cause they always seem to have flash houses in the movies

It's worth whatever you were willing to pay for it. It looks nice enough; if I were in the market for a ball python and it were healthy, I might pay that for it. Are you worried you got ripped off or something?

I agree. $50.00 is not a bad price.
