Balton's Festae Progression Thread

Standard 135 gallon tank.

This is them before they bred.

The bad thing is I had really crappy lighting back then so the videos didn't turn out so good.

They were awesome. I should have never sold the male. He would be so big and bad now.

hey man, it's all good. I didn't do much to keep it civilized either. As far as the green face with the female, I think that just come with good lineage. My wild female has green cheeks even through the rest of her red face.

Honestly, I'm still confused by this Festae. Today I saw it's tube was skinny so I'm thinking male again now but it had the dark black front half dorsal and was shimmy shaking at the Dovii. Could it be a g*y male hahaha?

if you have a smaller tank open you could throw it in there and see the colors it displays when it's by it's self. The one thing I've noticed is that they'll show different colors based on their ranking in the tank. I had my female in her own tank when she was 2" or so and she turned red and blue right away and the male I sold looked more like a female til I put him in my 125 with my jardini.

I've noticed they have a ranking and the dominant one colors up and the rest stay dull to show respect.

I'm curious how big is the Jardini?
