I've noticed they have a ranking and the dominant one colors up and the rest stay dull to show respect.

I'm curious how big is the Jardini?
The jar was around 12-14" and the festae was round 6". It was just a temporary thing though, was trying to sell the festae and use the tank he was in, it worked for the couple months they were together. I sold the jar this summer and he didn't make it in shipping. Sad thing was it was only a few hours away, other guy didn't want to me half way.

Darn I was hoping to hear of a sucessful mixed community tank with a large Jardini.

Don't know - but that fish has quit amazing colors!

Thank you TheOscarGuy. It has nicer color than my crappy camera can pick up. I especially love how vividly red it is around the mouth and under the chin on the gills edges.

Anyone want to venture a guess? Male? Female? :help2:

how big is it? looks a lot like male, but it looks like it's losing its spangling in its fins which would suggest female.

Actually all the Torpedo barbs eventually got eaten. The Filament barbs, though about the same length, are thicker and much faster swimmers. I would recommend them as dithers any day over the high dollar Roseline shark snacks. I really liked those fish....if only they were a little quicker. Expensive lesson learned.
