Peter Athens, I get it. Are there any other fish in the tank?
You got it, Mr. Monster ;)

Just a few clown loaches and bleeding heart tetra to add color. The balzaniis can fend them off easily.

Thanks Sue :). I'm thinking about thinning out the group from 8 to 4-5. Let me know if you want them ;)

Thanks Ed! Hope you can collect more this year - it would be fun to have both races in the same tank :)

Apparently a second female spawned a day later on a horizontal surface of a piece of driftwood. I saw her picking up yesterday and she's been holding. I don't have any more smaller tanks....so the options are:

1. Leave her in the tank and see what happens.
2. Put her in the same 6g tank as the other holding female.

Suggestions?

Hi Peter, if there is only a day or two separating the spawns, strip the other two females and bring me all of the fry. :) Ken

Yes Sir. ;) I actually stripped the second female last night and got these:

The first female is still holding. The few that escaped already absorbed the sack and started to monkey around :D

I've got a Gymnogeophagus sp paso pache II pair from Ken, right now they are in separate 29s because the male isn't very nice. I'm going to put them in my 75 which has a Crenicichla minuano pair, after I sell a carpintis. If the male pike (who hates the carpintis) doesn't decide he hates the paso pache as well, I'm definitely interested in adding some balzanii to the tank also.

stripped the third female tonight (4 days after she picked up) - turned out to be the largest spawn! Got more than 250 wrigglers (yes I counted) :D:D:D
