This evening after work I plan to go collecting. Before on a old thread, I said I was going to cut the stalks in half and make a mat out of it the entire length n height of the tank, but I also had another idea. Would it be possible, since bamboo is hollow and all, to cut out places in the bottom of the bamboo to fit bubble curtains? Or drill a hole thru the bottom I could slide the bubble rods in and make the bubble come out at the top of the bamboo stalks? Kind of set it up like how an organ ( instrument) looks, start in the corner with say a 4" piece n make it like a ladder to the middle of the tank then like your going back down the ladder ... The bubble curtains would be hidden inside the bamboo so all you would see is the bubbles coming out the top. My tank is 30" high so maybe take it to 25-26" in height? I really would like your input if you all think this is a cool idea and I could make it work!!!
Here is a drawing of what I mean and a picture of where I am getting the bamboo from. Any input would be great. Mods if this needs to be moved go right ahead, just feel like there is a lot more traffic in General Aquaria. Thanks! - SePPiiImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1370123415.596731.jpg

Make sure no fish can get stuck inside.

Well I thought about that, so I was going to put a type of mesh over the top. They shouldn't be able to get stuck though its mainly all peacock bass

Dude, it is the most random thing I've ever seen. Idk how it got there. I don't know if someone planted it there or if it just washed up from the river and started growing but it is a legit bamboo Forrest down there

I like this idea. I'm very interested to see what comes of this.

Thanks! I'm going to power wash n boil the wood today then soak it to release tannins. Bamboo does have tannins right?

I am wondering if the bamboo will slowly rot in the tank. I know if you completely submerge live bamboo in a tank it will eventually break down....but I am curious how dead, cut bamboo will react over time. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE your idea, but I don't wanna see you put a ton of work into something if it isn't gonna last.
