ok well he was in my reef tank 190gal but out grew it so i toook him to buddies shop and asked if he will keep him til i can buy a larger tank from him. well its been 6 months now and he has ppl asking to buy the shark, and says i need to get him home or he will sell it. so how would the best way to set up a pond, pllywood tank or spend a thousand and buy a 300 gal glass tank( my org plan). really want to keep him had it from an egg.

You'll need much more than 300 gallon for a bamboo shark. Depending on what kind, think something 5 or 6 feet wide and even longer so it has enough space.

I'd say sell it and get a smaller shark, like a coral or marbled catshark.

Sell it

if you sell it id make sure he was going to a suitable sized tank and not someones aquarium
thats what im afraid of, i think of my self as a responseable pet owner. think im going to do a plywood tank, 6x6x2.5, marine board, rubber coated,2x6 stand, 2x6 around the tank, 6x2' glass . tank will be in basement and built behind a wall in storage, or furnace room, so the view will be from the living space.

If you can make that for him I'd definitely keep him. How big is he rightnow? To big for a temp. 300 gal. rubbermaid while your building the tank? That way there isn't someone rushing you and you wont have to deal with that.

Also, a sheet of plywood comes in 8' x 4'. Instead of cutting the 2' off the length, I'd keep it as 8'. Unless you dont have the room for the extra length. You could still keep the viewing glass 6x2

If it was me, I would build him a tank with that thousand and keep him. I know how attached I get with my fish when I raise them from a young age, I always regret the ones I was forced to let go...
