Plenty of room for one to turn around in. I have also learned that bamboo's are a great starter shark and as for salt tank they are great b/c most don't get to large. I've read that a 155g is min for one and 250g is min for two. Correct me if I'm wrong though....I'll watch this thread closely....![]()
a "started" juvenile, definitely.sbuse;4235236; said:witch ever stays the smallest that is in the trade and i wasn't sure if i should start with an egg or just get a 6"+- shark...
sorry mate, but it's not gonna happen. a standard 180 makes a good pup tank, but their 24" width isn't good for much else. though you might use the tank to grow out your fish while you get started on the big onestreetthrowback;4235280; said:same here, i have an extra 180 gallon tank, looking to get two or three bamboo sharks, but want to do some info 1st, i hear people saying 180 is the min but then i see people having them in 80 and 120 gallon fish tanks can anyone reflect on this
wider is definitely better. though you need to specify which species, the thought of keeping any adult bamboo long term in a 155g is ludicrous.snow;4236018; said:I think the wider the tank is the better. actually, 400-500 is about the minimum for a lot of of the bamboo's that are commonly kept.snow;4236144; said:400g a great but to big for a min size. It's deff around 150-200g for one, depending on what people say.
As soon as people hear the word "SHARK" they right away think you need a 400g, 10ft tank, but no this is not true, a lot of sharks may need that size but not for some smaller sharks like the bamboo.....keep in mind fish like sharks do not grow as big as they do in the wild when kept in a home aquaria.
