Bamboo

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I put a cutting into our 20 wide paludarium about two months ago and it's doing pretty well.
It's 85% submerged, not much new growth but not dying either.

No ignore that crap about it needing to be 30 % needing to stick out of the water. Bamboo lives for a year fully submerged, but within a year it'll easily grow itself out of your tank and well over 30% exposed.

It also depends ont he kind you have. I have a few stalkings in my 15g they were fully submerged for a few months but now their about 10% out of the water, its been about 5 months.

really neat idea, easily available here, hopefully it grows in low lighting
i know that the "lucky bamboo" grows in low lighting, i used it fully submerged for several months and it turned out well, until my fish started getting larger and i had to pull out the bamboo to open up some swimming space.
