I've heard of the same thing happening. Bring home new shark, and soon after a waterchange is done and they are left with a dead shark. I told the owner that a waterchange doesn't really adhere to "let the shark settle in for a couple weeks" but he thought it was in the sharks best interest. I'm really just commenting to see what others have to say though.

I bought a smaller marble banded shark, put him in with a few groupers, an angel and a tang. The tanks been set up for about 2 monthes.(0 amonia .5 nitrite 5 nitrate) Thers around 150lbs of LR(150g) He was eating brine shrimp before I bought him, I made them show me he ate. I drip acclimated him for about 2 hours, threw him and and hes been fine since. This was about two weeks ago, and I've done one water change since; Didn't phase him at all. He still eats great and is even starting to come out of the caves he hides in.

You wanted to know what others had to say :D Hope this helps.

Thanks. Also I should note that I was later told that the person I described in the quote had used RO water for the first time when he had done this large water change shortly after aquiring the recently hatched shark. Not sure that it could have influenced the circumstances.

Gl with your sharkling! I think well be bringing a couple more eggs into the store to hatch out soon.
