mines about 10" and ive never had a problem with him ! very docile and likes his little hang out ! hes in a 180 with large barbs and cats , sounds like i got lucky with this one as i picked him up before he turned into TSN food 
was in a tank with 2, 3ft TSNs so didnt waste any time and bought him ! never regretted it

They are great fish.
Ive kept three they grew from 2" - 7" Quite quickly. They are agressive with each other and may kill small fish, but i kept them in a 6x2x2 with some big fish and they behaved quite well.

Hey Liz. I had mine from about 3-4 inches to the close to 12 he is now. The 6-8 inch range was the worst. Kind of like the terrible twos, would get cranky and tail slap anyone in the vacinity. Has since mellowed and only gets a little pushy come feeding time. Have had him with oscars,pacu,aro,sevs,CK,bichirs,cats and plecos. Not really any specific problems.
i got 2. had them in a 10 gallon for about a month and just moved them to their new home this afternoon (75 gallon). mine are give or take..... killed 2 cory cats and an algae eater but never messed with my guppies or my gouramies 
. they are now with a pleco in the 75 gallon anddont really seem to interested in it. mine are slightly smaller than the ones your looking at though. smallest one is 3.5" and the other one is 3.75" alost 4" even and cost me $7 each at petsmart when they were 3" even a month ago or so.

i just may grab up one if they are still there and look healthy... i feel alot better knowing that they would be okay with all the fish you mentioned... thats great... can i see new pic of him if u have one...dragonfish;2803189; said:
