im thinking slender madtoms and log perch would they be good in the same tank?
im just gonna have to wait for another good warm day and then ima go get some
Sounds like a plan to me Log perch are kewl, and the real key is to get somthing YOU want , like and will enjoy. If you dont and just settle for anything you will always be thinkin, WOW i coulda had a V-8
I kept my checkered madtom with sculpin at one time, they do just fine together as long as neither is small enough to be eaten.
Anything but the biggest darters will be eaten, in fact that's a large portion of what we used to feed our sculpin before he got on pellets. Sculpin will eat anything that fit in their mouth (that can include stuff up to 2/3 of their length, including other sculpin).
Banded sculpin aren't really that hard to keep alive as far as sculpin go. Plenty of oxygen is the main thing, and you don't have to keep the water super cold but I wouldn't let it get above about 72.
this is exactly what i want to do with my 20g long. make sure you make it feel like a natural habitat for a sculpin. mostly fine pebbles and fast moving currents. you could prolly find a few species of cyprinids that will fit in the upper regions of the 20g.
