Leichardti and Black Arows??

any thoughts? im planning on doing this..
once they Lei and Banjar catches up a little bit in size, im planning to add them in my black aro tank. i know size of tank size of fish are factors to be considered and it depends on the individual fish. what else???

sounds like a really bad idea, never had a lei or banjar, but banjars r one of the most aggressive asians out there, not to mention the lei is probably as aggressive as a jar. sounds like the black is gonna get torn up. other factors r decorations, other fish besides the aros, also heard that higher temperatures makes the aro more aggressive (a myth I think),

it would work but it might not,you could have a peaceful community for quite a while then suddenly 1 day an aro starts chaos and i suggest the banjar and lei around 10"-12" since your blacks are 17"-18" if im not wrong about your black aro's legth, black aros are thin and start to gain some girth after 24" even silver aros have more girth at 17"-18",black aros could get beated up easily by your banjar red, lei,so smaller the better but not small enough to be eaten and harrassed,in my experience black aros arent aggressive and defensive as the other aros

im thinking he same thing. my lei is only at 2.5" right now, the banjar is supposed to be at 7". my blacks at 18". im thinking, once the lei is around 6", red is around 8-9", ill put them in the aro community tank. my black wont even touch a 3" orino i had in there or a 2 or 3" datnoid, so im very comfortable with them.

im thinking the size difference of atlest 12" would be fine? black arows at 20 after a few months, the lei at around 8", the red would be around 10"??

Whats a "Banjar"?

Im assuming its a nickname that I havent heard yet

banjar aka 1.5 red
hybrid arowana
GreenxRed
usually banjars look like greens with a pinkish tint and redish/pinkish fins

Oh, I see :)

got a 24in and 18in blacks with my 16in jar. So far so good. it depends on the indivdual fish, but yes it is very risky.

I have a Leichardti, banjar and RTG in one tank.

They range in size from 11-14 inches.

Banjar occasionally hassles the RTG.
The RTG rarely hassles the leichardti.
Leichardti's are no where near as agressive as jardini's

RTG gets his own home soon.
I suggest a big tank. (300gal+)
One thing I have noticed when communing arowana's is that height of the tank is important as well. Higher tanks allow the fish to do quick escapes up or down from a tale biting arowana on a territory charge.
