Banjo catfish

Hey guys I’ve had this banjo cat for quite a while now. At first he would sit on top of the gravel but now is burrowing down into it. Is it possible for him to injure himself since it’s gravel and not sand? It’s the smaller sized gravel that are around the size of and eraser on a pencil and are round and pretty smooth. Just want to make sure he won’t get hurt doing this. Thanks

Yes I think Banjo is between the driftwood and very dark green plant.

Yep sure is. Took me awhile to find him in the tank lol he sure hides well.

Ok good. I didn’t want to use sand just cause I have a lot of bottom feeders and thought they would stir up the sand too much.

Didn’t know there were different types of banjos. Thought they just had variations of color

There are dozens of species. Coracoideus is the most common. Aspredo aspredo is the biggest at 15 inches and is freaky looking.
