I've used every generation of the banjo minnow. It has been through three phases of colors and body shapes. I've caught many bass, and northern pike with them, but the key, like someone mentioned is to work them slowly. Most people do not have the patience to really work the buoyant bodies of the bminnow.
The one heavy downside to them, is that the hook is set way up infront of the body of the minnow. They put it there so it doesn't interfere with the way the body swims, but it also cuts down on the percentage of fish hooked well IMO. Bass of course will inhale anything they hit, but pike really don't pay much attention to where they hit, they just smash and tear, and with a soft body plastic like the bminnow, you don't always get a good hook set.
Anyway, IMO a good kit to try if you like fishing bass, I'd give it a 3.5 stars out of 5 for good action, and life-like colors, but mediocore hook set/originality.
