barbel will grow back?

it may grow back and it might not. i have had an aro not grow it barble back and another one that did. there are alot of things that dictate if it will or wont. they are things like if the base was damaged or not. good luck.
Size of the fish and how much was broken off plays in too. Larger older fish tend to not grow them back.
Not true. My 17 inch jardini jumped and hit the corner of my tank and completely tore off its left barbel from the base. Within a 6 months, the barbel grew back but was a couple of mm shorter than the original.
All it really takes is very clean water and a good diet!
It depends on how far the barbel broke.
If the barbel is broken at the root, a minor op maybe required.
U can try to switch off all the lights at all times to stimulate the growth of the barbel as it will be force to use its barbel to sense and hunt for food.
