It will all depends on how far the bar bell got cut off at? If it got cut off closer to the never/ closer to the mouth, it will not grow back. Picture's is needed to make further analysis.

This would be true, depending on the injury it may not grow back. Many times barbels that do grow back will be deformed.

Could someone please explan how adding salt will make barbels grow?

Adding salt wont help it grow back, its not a barbell fertilizer....It should help prevent secondary infection till it heals or starts growing back.

usually arowana barbel will grow back, but it will grow very slowly, mine have the same problem the barbell do grow but the other half is longer than the other making the aro looks so clumsy, so i cut the other half to make it even...... Feel pretty stupid afterwards though.

yes the barbels will grow back but at a slow rate, also they don't normally grow back as nice as the originals do.

what are the barbels on the arowana for anyway? i always wonderd, cuz they're really cool :)

Barbels are either the whiskers or fellers and sensors of a fish. Normally found on the head and face of the fish all Arowana have them and there also the same thing as whiskers on catfish.
