has anybody used these? i couldn't find any that had barbes so i got some 3/0 and 6/0 circles in preparation for a catfish trip this weekend.

I wouldnt use them. Circle hooks are so safe as far as getting the hook perfectly in the corner of a fish's mouth that unless I had to use them I wouldnt.

With any barbless hook you must mainain pressure on the fish to keep the hook from falling out.

i usually flatten the barbs on my regular hooks because i almost always catch and release and hate hooking fish and not being able to get the hook out, but circle hooks are supposed to always hook in the corners of the mouth so i don't think i'd have a problem getting them out.

that was my assumption but i haven't found any cicle hooks with barbs.

i've never seen them barbless either but now that i'm actually interested in using them i can't find any with barbs, go figure. hopefully they won't let too many fish off.

Just use pliers to flatten the barbs, steady pressure is needed to land the fish.

clip them off.

umm guys, i normally use barbless hooks and the circle hooks i've got now are barbless. i'm wondering if 1) anybody here has used barbless circle hooks and 2) what my chances are of the fish spitting the hook, i usually do keep pressure on the line but i've had fish spit barbless hooks a couple times before(usually right after you get that first look at them)
