Barbs with Texas Cichlid?

Please keep this thread updated. I've tried a few times to keep tiger barbs with my CA cichlids but it never worked. I think my biggest issue was I had too many fish in my 125. Once I cut down my stock I'm going to try again.

Just wanted to update. I got 8 lemon tetras as a test run for dither fish for my texas. I put them in the tank friday and all are doing well the texas seem to pay no attention to them. my female tried going after them once the first 5 minutes they were in the tank but that is all the action I have seen.

I tired little electric yellows labs that didn't work so well. All but 1 got eaten. the one that is left is actually swimming with the lemon tetras its quite funny. I guess its cause they have similar colors. I will probably bump the school up to twelve after I give it a week or so.
