Bare bottom or substrate ?

New tank on order and I was wondering on people's thoughts on whether to go bare bottom or substrate?
I have run bare bottom before and I have also had swimming pool filter sand as a substrate but I'm not sure which to go for now ?

I suppose if I change my mind at a later date it's easier to put substrate in than take it out

I wish I would have painted or tiled my tank rather than sand. I can still do it just need to get all the sand out

sand. bare bottom is lazy fish keeping imo.

I like bare for the fact you can point your return or a power head to the floor and tank always stays free of food and particles
