I'm doing a bare bottom planted tank...so far I have 3 annubias. What other plants can I get? I need all low light plants. I'm using regular fluorescent tubes, the tank is a 40 gal breeder with a fx5 as filtration. There's no driftwood or any other decor. What cha think?

I had the annubias tied to rocks but one of them came loose and it's not whipping around in the current so I didn't bother tying it back down. I was thinking of putting the plant on nothing. I want them to just be there.

hygro will grow if un planted,
and java moss and java ferns will work
but u should give some other nutrients besides light,

I've never done a planted tank before..I'll look into nutrients. Unless you'd be so kind as to enable me to be lazy and just tell me what to put in. :)

moss java ferns anubias are best for a bb tank. some people use pots and use some substrate in there for other kinds of plants.

Can't do pots my fish seems to hurt himself on them.

try java fern, all moss kinds, hudrocotule leucocephala, pistia, magrooves, algea balls, bamboo's.....

I look into all these...but I can't do the moss. I have an FX5 on the tank (40 breeder):naughty: the moss is just goes everywhere and the intake.

how do you feel about using driftwood and mounting the plants to the wood?

The same way I feel about the pots. I don't want the fish to hurt itself on the driftwood. Maybe when I get a bigger tank.
