my background is black acrylic...i still see reflections?

There are two surfaces on a glass panel and by painting the back you reduce the back reflection from the second surface but first surface will still give you reflection.

yeah, that's exactly what i figured. Would painting your bottom panel reduce it to the point that your fish would no longer see their reflection though?

its hard to say as I never look into an aquarium to see what kind of reflection I get off the bottom. and I don't even know if fish eyes function the same as human eye.

well im lookin for a cheap subtrate then wat u guys sugest for a 180 g p tank

you could do pool filter sand if you like the color

If you want bb id paint the outside bottom. Anther option would be to tile the bottom so it looks better then full bare bottom but it is still easy to clean.

Would be fine, they get used to whatever surroundings you provide for them

it will probally be easyer but if you are thinking about a bare bottom i would put tile in the bottom to give it a sandy look
