What are peoples thoughts on bare bottom tanks for benthic sharks? Do the sharks prefer to have sand or does it not matter?

always have sand substrate with sharks and rays,i always try and replicate a small part of the ocean, bare bottom is more sps,lps reef tank oriented limiting detritus build up and nutrient build up. The nutrients inhibit coral calcification, sharks can deal with nitrate up to 20ppm and phosphate is not a issue
