Me & my friend found a wholesale aquarium store that sells products for fish tanks (Start Right, Aquarium Salt, etc) & I was curious on what things shall I rack up on or any products that you use to keep up the maintenance & care of your RBP's. Right now I just use Start Right for their weekly water changes, is there anything specific that I NEED to purchase??

Thanks in advance for your help...

Can't really think of anything other than product used to dechlorinate water such as Prime. Maybe get some melafix/pimafix just in case? do they sell filters cheap? if so and you need to upgrade then you can look into what they have?

I think they sell filters as well, I plan on buying another filter & pump for my tank anyways. I'm just interested in the tank maintenance stuff, like Ick & Algae products, Stress Coat Relief, etc.

I figure 3 RBP's in a 75 gallon with 2 fliters & pumps should be fine. I was going to get 2 more but I noticed the store where I purchased them from had a few that had "white, crystal" eyes....F*ck that lol

i don't use any of that stuff except the dechlo. such as prime....almost every problem i've had i've treated with higher temps and salt. i'd grab melafix and pimafix as jp just suggested but it's not even a necessity

when you salt bro, do you mean aquarium salt?

yeah

cool, that's the stuff my friend was suggesting, I wasn't too sure with all these damn products to add to the water, which ones I needed.

i know what you mean. i think aquarium salt, prime, pimafix and melafix should be your basic. as long as you have that, you can handle any problem that comes up

Yeah, this is starting to be a head ache lol all these products on the market make it seems as if you need at least 1 of everything lol

but cool, so far I have another filter, powerhead pump, the salt prime & melafix on my list. I still need to purchase some wood & plants for the tank as decoration, I saw these LED MarineLand Bubble Lights for tanks, I wanna give the light some color instead of the common bulb that's in it now.
Also 1 last thing, I've noticed the pellets I've purchased (Hikari Massivore Delite) are a lil too big for them & they don't respond well to them. However, I cut them in half and stuff it inside of their shrimp and they respond back...is that because of anything particular or are those pellets not intended for them to have?

umm, not all piranhas will eat pellets...i guess in the grand scheme of things it's like what would you rather have, pumpkin pie or a salad. pellets are the salad of your fish's diet. the massive delight aren't huge but perhaps try hikari's cichlid gold, medium size

They are floating pellets though but i enjoy watching mine rise to eat them from the surface

i'm the type of shopper that looks for colors and package so maybe this'll help you
