Bare Tanks for Silver Arowana?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i have been told the following..
bare bottom tanks are more easier to maintain
they said that it will not damage the body/skin-scales of the fish
but im not sure about this..
they said that it has the full volume of water which helps the growth of the aro or fish
could someone correct me if im wrong..
i dont believe the last the last bit..

IDK some on here may consider this derailing since it is how barebottom affects a fish.:screwy:

Sarcasm aside, I don't think there is enough of a difference in volume between a barebottom or other tank to affect the growth rate of the arowana.

Bare tank is just easier maintainence. Don't listen to LFS's bs crap info. Also if u feed live or fatty foods your silver will most likely get DE.

Good question. I can't stand barebottom tanks. Sure they're easy to take care of but they just look boring.
I agree. IMO half the fun of fish keeping is in maintenance and aquascaping. So to me, a bare tank is almost as bad as an empty tank.

by having a bare bottom tank...helps you keep algae or other parasites from forming...agree...much easier to clean...also you can see if your arowana is actually eating from the poop....
