Bargarius questions

I def think these fish fall into the never trust a catfish scenario ... they dont move much, but when foods around they move unbelievably fast and are ferocious ... prob the most powerful fish I own .... mine were good for about a year, then when they approached the 24 inch mark fish started disapearing, one of which was a datnoid that was wider than their mouth ... also dont make the mistake of thinking fast fish will be safe, my 26 inch goonch killed a 14 inch GATF although he did not swallow him, and it doesnt get much faster than an ATF ... so be careful, just giving you the heads up .... they may be fine for a long time, then all of a sudden problems ... and they dont grow slow, at least the ones I have didnt ... they went from 7 inches to about 18 in a year ... now they are about 2-2.5 years and about 26-28 inches ... and I'ge had them in a smaller tank, and feeding only 2 times a week to try and slow down their growth

According to the new taxonomy developed by chicx I'd say both are b. bagarius ... the 2 do look slightly diff, but everything else has been the same, as far as behavior, growth etc so I figure its probably just variation within the species .... both were labelled as b. yarelli imported from India when purchased

Ok i see those guys do tend to grow faster then some other species as ive gathered, now i dont think anyone has a clue about Licas growth rate so if i somehow manage to get my hands on one of those that will be uncharted territory.. But Thai Rutlius is my backup, and from what i gathered they grow around the same rate as bichirs after they get ten inches (the bichirs not the goonch) and also have a smaller adult size then the B. Bargarius. Im hoping at max size he wont be able to eat similarly sized Ornate Bichirs and Endlicheris, may have to invest in a Congicus so there will be one bigger then him.. maybe when they pile the big one will ward off the goonch haha.
