I have some great gnarled driftwood that's been power washed and grilled as best I could to kill off any bacteria without scorching the wood. The power washing was fairly light so I'd didn't splinter the wood which left the bark on a few of the pieces. Would the bark be a concern to anyone? I'm not too concerned about the prep of the wood other than having the bark on it.

Soak it in boiling water is best. For a couple hours. Most bark will fall off.if water turns brown this is a chemical in wood called tannin which would affect ph levels

My driftwood still had plenty of bark on it. The only issue is that it tends to start falling off at some point. Not a big deal.

I agree, that if allowed the bark will break down which could foul the tank and have a bad effect. It should be removed.

I'm thinking you're right Kevin. It's natural and the roots came out of the water like that. I guess it's more concentrated though.

Bark isn't bad just make sure you presoak driftwood unless you know how it's gonna affect your tanks ph levels
