Barracuda

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yea it's more than likely a micro, I see the black dot. Not minimus. Not falcirostris. Falcirostris have black line as juvies and lose it as they grow. There are a ton of different species of these fish. I've kept 6 or 7 types, although it's been a while.

Interesting thanks for the ID. Any idea what the growth rate is like in captivity.

Very nice under rated mini monster. Great pick up!

Thanks learn something new every day. Havent bought him yet as I wanted to make sure I knew what I was getting into first. May pick him up though

All my cudas grew slowly except falcirostris and falcatus. If it is in fact a micro, I'm guessing around 5" max. He looks skinny, needs a feeder. And if you do decide to purchase grab some melafix, these guys get tail rot easily. Water changes help too, shortly after acclimated.

Good tip thanks.

Floating plants will help reduce stress. Watch for Ich. What are the cudas tankmates? I think i saw you post about a Kelberi if I'm not mistaken.

I didnt buy the cuda. Honestly I dont think I will after all. I was looking to stock my empty 135g. Think ill hold off on this particular cuda. Seems like they do better with other cudas and they only had one in stock.

Kelberi is actually with the orinos eating pellets now. That particular tank isnt getting anymore new fish.
