Average size aye, ummmm in the wild they can get up to way over 100cm, the average I see in tanks is about 50 cm.

man they get pretty big. They do seem quite interesting though. Im pretty restricted in what i can keep as my mum has to care for my tanks when im away and im on the second floor of a 100 year old tenement flat haha

Also, why I dont see much bigger than 50cm in tanks is because they get too big for people so they usually put them outside n a dam, lol.

Barra's are commonly seen to be around 120cm, but there is some to have been reported to be around 180cm. 8D

Lol, go the flat. You should get a big heavy tank and sit in the centre of your lounge room, LOL.

No way mate, don't do it!!! lol, I had a sooty with my Barras, and although he was a great fish, he was territorial and aggressive, he'd chase every fish in the tank around, he was a terror I had to remove him from the tank. I took him back to the pet shop, and it's really sad, because he hasn't been bought yet, and I can recognise him 8( Damn him and his big fishy eyes looknig at me making me sad, LOL!

Lol, My Barras were 3 times the size of the sooty, but it still had a go at them. If you get one, you'll be cringing everytime the sooty attacks you if you don't want your barramundi to get marked or scratched, lol.
