He has pics of the tank build in another thread.

It should work out fine in that size tank. But like aready said it's always trial & error with cichlids

I just got a 7'' male barred midas. I want to put him in my 500 gallon with my 2 wild oscars ( 8-10'') in that size of tank do you think they can coexist peacefully? or is this trial and error? or I am I headed to a huge failure?:nilly:

thanks MFK

I kept a breeding pair of midas and four wild oscars together in 360 gallon tank about 14 years ago. It worked just fine. Midas are glass bangers but they tend to calm down in larger sized tanks. You should be just fine. Even if the oscars pair off and spawn I truly doubt they could faze the midas. I have kept dozens of adult oscars and they all were much more bark than bite. I have seen breeding pairs of oscars forced away from their spawn by other fish on more than one occasion.

Go for it.

i know lol, he's from my local forum.

but i wouldn't build a 500 for 2 oscars and midas, i'd probably build one for
like a vieja community or a midas complex community.

or even an oscar tank with like 6 or 7 oscars.

but yeah, barred midas gets to 9" i think your wild caught o's will have some beef on their hands.

Its posssible to work out, but we need to see pics to actually confirm.

To confirm what? Its the internet, there is always a chance of deception, but you can check his past posts to see that the tank exists. He came here seeking advice not some sort of confirmation from a group of people that he has never met. If you cannot fathom a tank that size then just skip this topic.

As I said earlier I have every confidence that the setup will work based on past similar experiences.

lol it's a real tank guys, what would make you think it's a fake post?
he has no reason to lie, he's just looking to see what you think.
