Barred Midas pair spawned, to flush or not to flush? that is my question

Always keep a piscivore on hand for such situations. In fact, I always have a piscivore in my tanks to take care of all the excess fry. CA's are so easy to breed you'll always have too many on hand unless you take steps to eliminate them. In fact, nothing survives at all in my ten foot tank even though the dovii, grammodes, etc. are outsized by the breeding Amphilophus by double or triple weight.

Alternatively, you can painlessly euthanize them with clove oil.

you're right, came home and 75% are gone. We'll see if the rest survive

good, if you don't feel like catching them don't feed the parents until they're all gone! Cannibalism > flushing your fish.

Update: I came home to find the female belly side up :-( I'm pretty sure the male wanted to breed again when the female was not ready and ended up killing her. The male is raising the frys on his own.

Sorry about your loss. That was a good looking girl. :(

Now you are left with a Mr. Mom.
